When you notice age-related changes like wrinkles and fine lines pop up in your appearance, you may be inclined to stock up on anti-aging products.

While these products can be beneficial to your skin, they don’t often produce significant anti-aging results. For moderate to severe signs of aging, you may need a skin-tightening procedure.

Premier Cosmetic Surgery and MedSpa provides Thermage FLX skin tightening for patients throughout Arcadia, Pasadena, and Los Angeles. Thermage is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that can help reverse age-related changes like wrinkles, forehead creases, sagging skin, and more. Read on to learn more about Thermage FLX.

What Is Thermage FLX Skin Tightening?

As you age, your body experiences a decrease in collagen and elastin production. Collagen and elastin are the components in your skin that keep you looking young and vibrant. Collagen gives your skin volume, while elastin gives it elasticity and firmness.

When collagen and elastin decline, skin becomes loose and sags. This creates the wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging you see as you age.

Thermage FLX is a non-invasive skin-tightening procedure that uses radiofrequency energy to create a younger-looking appearance. The innovative Thermage system delivers radiofrequency energy deep into your skin, smoothing and tightening skin that has become loose and wrinkled.

The Benefits of Thermage FLX Skin Tightening

A skin-tightening treatment like Thermage FLX offers a wide variety of benefits to our patients, particularly those struggling with signs of aging.

Thermage FLX can provide all of the following cosmetic benefits and more:

Thermage is a non-invasive skin-tightening treatment. This means that there are no incisions, sutures, or scarring involved. It is an outpatient procedure that allows patients to return home immediately after their session. There is no recovery or downtime necessary.

Who Should Seek Thermage FLX Treatment?

Thermage FLX is intended for patients who are struggling with age-related changes in their appearance.

Our patients who choose Thermage FLX are often in their 40s and experiencing a decline in collagen and elastin production. These patients may have fine lines, wrinkles, forehead creases, hanging jowls, sagging skin, and other signs of aging.

If you don’t know whether Thermage FLX is the right procedure for you, seek a consultation with one of our cosmetic medicine professionals. We can assess your skin and determine the best course of treatment for your cosmetic concerns.

It is important to note that every patient has their own unique needs. If we find that Thermage FLX is not the right procedure for you, we will advise you on other cosmetic procedures that can yield the results you desire.

The Complete Thermage FLX Process

Before your first Thermage FLX session, it’s best to have a clear understanding of the process. Learn more about the Thermage FLX procedure, from consultation to results, right here:

Before Your Treatment

Prior to your Thermage FLX treatment, we will schedule an initial consultation. During this appointment, we will examine your skin and discuss your desired outcome to ensure that Thermage FLX is the best procedure for you. If this treatment will not meet your needs, we will inform you of alternative options at this time.

On the day of your Thermage FLX session, you should wash your face with a mild cleanser. Do not apply anything further to your skin. This includes serums, moisturizers, face creams, cosmetics, and topical treatments. Your skin should be completely bare before your treatment.

During Your Treatment

During your Thermage FLX session, you will be able to sit or lie back comfortably while we perform your procedure. Using an innovative handheld device, we will deliver radiofrequency energy deep into your skin, making changes at the cellular level.

The radiofrequency energy will stimulate an increase in collagen production that can combat the aging process. This will effectively smooth, tighten, and contour your skin, giving it a more youthful appearance.

Thermage FLX is a relaxing procedure that should not cause pain or discomfort. The device will emit a slight warmth that many patients report being similar to a hot stone massage.

After Your Treatment

A complete Thermage FLX can take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the areas being treated. After your session is complete, you will be able to return home and resume normal activity. There is usually no downtime or recovery involved with Thermage FLX.

Most patients only need one Thermage FLX session to see positive results. The radiofrequency energy delivered in this session will stimulate new collagen production and begin to diminish signs of aging like wrinkles and sagging skin.

This boost in collagen production and reversal of age-related changes is most significant in the six months following your treatment. While the collagen in your skin will continue to increase, you can seek further Thermage FLX sessions to maintain your results.
